Undergraduate Obstetrics and Gynaecology 101
Your one-stop guide to passing the Finals
Have you been bothered by the following?
"My O&G posting was a disaster!"
"What is the scope of the examination?"
"What kind of questions will they ask?"
"Is there a comprehensive course that will guide me through?"
"Is there someone who will make the subject so simple for me?"
If so, you have come to the right place. The course is designed to help the student pass his final examinations in Obstetrics and Gyneacology. it covers more than what he or she is expected to know for the examinations. It is catered to the average or above average student – one needs to read more if he or she has a distinction in mind.
The course consists of two main parts. The first are a set of video lectures followed by a set of single best answer questions (SBA). These lectures will cover various topics in both Obstetrics and Gynaecolgy. The second part is on OSCEs. The OSCEs will have in turn, two parts. The first is a set of clinical scenarios accompanied by a set of questions. The second part will be interactive stations covering both structured history taking and counselling. Answers will be given.
Note that the clinical management of the cases are based on the British school of thought and references will be made, where necessary, to The Green Top Guidelines of the Royal College or the NICE guidelines of the United Kingdom.
Your Instructor
Professor Kulenthran Arumugam is not only an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist but has been teaching both undergraduates and postgraduates for close to forty years. He has also been an Examiner for the finals in various Universities both Nationally and Internationally. In short, he comes with a wealth of experience. Besides, he is a talented teacher and as one of his students remarked “he has the remarkable ability to make a most complicated subject sound so simple that anyone can understand it.” Part of it comes from him having that unique intuition to know exactly what the problem is in the student’s mind in trying to understand a topic. In this course all his experience as a teacher is displayed as the student will soon find out.
