The Medical Educator is dedicated to the training of young and aspiring individuals to obtain their undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. These services are spearheaded by Professor Kulenthran Arumugam who comes with a wealth of experience, having been a clinician for nearly forty years and a teacher for more than thirty years. In addition, he has a sound knowledge of the basic sciences. But above all, he is a gifted teacher.

Biodata of Professor Kulenthran Arumugam

MBBS (Spore), FRCOG, MD, PhD, LLB Hons (Lond), Dip Epid (Lond)

He graduated from the University of Singapore in 1975. He had an interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and went on to obtain his MRCOG in 1982. He then joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Malaya the following year as a Lecturer. He rose through the ranks and was appointed full Professor in 1991. He was elevated to a Fellow of the Royal College in 1992. He has the rare distinction of a clinician holding two doctoral degrees, the MD and PhD from the University of Malaya. He is a trained epidemiologist and as a side interest he read law as an external student and obtained the LLB Hons from the University of London in 1999. He is an experienced clinician and with a wealth of knowledge especially in post-graduate training for the MRCOG Examinations. His clinical expertise has been in, endocrinology, paediatric gynaecology, clinical epidemiology and medico-legal issues in obstetrics and gynaecology
